Week 1: Reflection 1: What are my Strengths as a Human Being?

My strengths as a human being are multifaceted. I consider my strengths to be diverse and unique. They extended beyond a wide scope from languages, travelling, to education, to work experience, to personality traits, to accomplishments, to innate features and so on.

When I was younger I believe my biggest strengths were being a caring and loving person, to putting others first, being smart, being able to play a variety of sports from baseball, hockey, soccer, badminton, tennis, skateboarding, horseback riding, biking, swimming, and running. I consider my keen interest to be a strength as I am always willing to try new things and innovate new ideas, I am consistently wanting to challenge myself.

As I got older, I started to value education, culture, languages and travelling. Participating in a rotary youth exchange in Brazil when I was 15 years old gave me confidence, determination, and willingness which are some of my greatest strengths nowadays. Having the dedication to learn a new language and study a new curriculum in a foreign language allowed me to challenge myself to the fullest. Studying abroad on a university exchange to Australia has given me accomplishments such as competing in Australian Nationals for Volleyball. I am a great athlete in a variety of sports. Australia also expanded my confidence in ways I didn’t know existed. I became a more extroverted person, someone who appreciates interacting with others.

Completing my Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Psychology has proven to me that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Having goals, determination, and motivation contributes to my strengths as an individual. All my strengths are intertwined to make me the individual I am today. I do not have just one strength, I have many strengths and each day they are continuing to evolve.
